kailan kaya ako magduduty sa st. cath na hindi ako toxic??? i don't know why whenever it's my duty, patients keep coming as if i'm giving something for free.
i used to work in st. catherine. i was employed there as a medtech for 6 months (at volunteer nurse din for 2 months) then i had to resign due to an inevitable event in my life, my nclex exam. so since then, whenever the staffs in the laboratory look for a reliever, i usually volunteer myself to take over their duties. the compensation is not that good. pang gas ko lang at food actually pero love ko medtech, that's why it's fine with me. i am now their official reliever! ehe. 298/day ang rate ko at sulit na sulit definitely ang bayad na ito sa akin.
yesterday, i took over sir dax's duty. it was his birthday the day before and most probably may hang over sa party niya kaya nagpaduty. shet! sometimes i think kung bakit gustong gusto ko ang trabaho ng medtech kahit tuwing duty ko e nagiging dinner ang lunch at midnight snack ang dinner ko. siguro dahil gusto ko ang natotoxic? possible because i easily get bored kapag walang ginagawa. kapag tahimik ang duty, i usually am able to give time to cotton making and recapping of specimen cups. napupuno ko ung mga containers nila sa sobrang inip. so kahit toxic ang duty, game pa rin ako. fulfilling yung feeling kapag naiiraos ko ang araw kahit sobrang toxic nito.
just yesterday, parang hindi nauubos ang mga patients kahit may bagyo. hindi nga sabay sabay, sunod sunod naman sila! hindi na nga kami nakakapagusap ng kaduty ko sa sobrang toxic. thank God, nagsawa din ang mga patients. at least i had my dinner a little earlier than usual (before: 12mn, now: 9pm). meron pa pala akong trademark tuwing duty ko, BLOOD TRANSFUSION! as in never akong nagduty na hindi ako nag BT. and the patients on BT kept me awake the whole night.
parang nililipad ang utak ko ngayon. kanina ko pa gusto umuwi pero as usual late ang kaendorse ko (sir lance). i really need to go home as well because i still have my duty in porac later at 3pm! mamesus ko! hehe
fyi: "mamesus" is a term we use to describe ourselves when we do duties for others kahit officially on duty ka na to get extra compensation (double job in short). not much increase on our salary pero sayang din pandagdag para sa matinding pangangailangan. ehehe
p.s.: sana lord may powers pa ako hangga sa duty ko mamaya!
