my friend grace has been asking me to publish a story about our artistarita event. so here it is.
my father's company was one of the sponspors of the artistarita play at holy angel university. he was given 3 tickets for free so the morning of that day he asked me if i would like to watch the play and without hesitation i relpied yes. first it's because i've watched them perform before at st.scho and i could say they were good then second, our tickets were priced at 1000Php. hehe..sayang naman di ba. so i invited grace to watch with us. i know hindi niya hilig yung ganon mga shows but when i said it was for free naku hindi rin nagdalawang isip sumamang manood.
the play is entitled "Ing Pamanuli" (Homecoming). the script was in Capampangan as well as the songs performed. i could really say that Capampangans are very talented. their acting was very natural. they were able to portray the typical Capampangan. hindi rin sila magpapatalo sa pag-sayaw at pag-kanta. siguro kung medyo nasa tono lang ako, i would have joined such groups. the story was about an ofw's homecoming. from the play you would understand the sacrifices most of our ofws have to deal with when they leave. at the same time, pinakita din yung nararamdaman nung mga taong naiiwan nila dito sa pinas. it wasn't a heavy drama play. actually it was more of a comedy. nakakatawa yung mga lines ng mga actors, lalo na in Capampangan yung paguusap nila. well i'm a Capampangan pero hindi talaga yung native na native yung alam ko mga salita. actually i even had quite a difficult time comprehending yung mga lines nila. even the songs! ang gagaling nila magkanta pero nahirapan talaga ako umintindi ng mga lyrics. yung pinaka-naintindihan ko talga e nung kinanta na nila yung "Atin cu pung singsing" hehehe... finale pa yun ha.
nabigla pa nga kami ni grace because there were few people singing along with the songs. as in alam talaga nila yung lyrics nung kanta. all in all the play was great. sana more of its kind would be produced.
